Elderly Home Care in Nottingham & Derby

Growing older doesn't mean giving up your independence. And it certainly doesn't mean leaving your home. Our elderly care service is built around helping you stay exactly where you want to be, with as much or as little support as you need.

We work with older people and their families across Nottingham and Derby, providing reliable, friendly support that fits around an individual’s routine, not ours.

Personal Care

Our carers help with every aspect of your daily routine, at your pace and with your comfort in mind.

Help with the everyday essentials

Personal care is any support that involves hands-on help with your daily routine. It includes washing and bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence care, getting up in the morning and settling down at night, medication reminders, and help with mobility around the home.

We understand this kind of support takes real trust. Our carers are chosen for their patience and kindness, and they'll always go at your pace. Your comfort and dignity come first, every single visit.

We also support working-age adults with physical disabilities with personal care, helping you maintain your independence and routine at home

Companionship

A regular friendly face can make an enormous difference. Companionship is care too.

Someone to talk to, and much more

Loneliness is one of the most common and least talked about challenges for older people living at home. A regular friendly face can make an enormous difference.

Our carers aren't just there to tick boxes. They're there to chat, to share a cup of tea, to watch the news, help with a hobby, or join in with a game. Over time, they often become a genuinely familiar and valued part of the day. Building meaningful connection and a break from, what can be, a lonely time.

Companionship visits can be combined with practical support or arranged simply for the social connection.

To increase social time, we also encourage our customers to visit our day centre. Our day centre is hosted at Evergreens Cafe in Ashfield's Recreational Centre. Open each weekday except Wednesday, we offer a range of activities including crafting and painting, games such as dominos, bingo and cards, all centred around the delicious cafe food.

Social Inclusion and Community Based Activities

Staying connected to the life you love

Staying active and socially connected isn't a luxury. For most people, it's essential to feeling well and staying positive. But when getting around becomes harder, it's often the first thing that quietly slips away.

Our carers can accompany you to the places that matter to you. Whether that's your local church or place of worship, a gym or exercise class, a favourite café, a trip to the shops, or a meal out with friends. We'll help you get there, stay with you if you need us, and make sure you get safely home again afterwards.

It's not about doing things for you. It's about making sure nothing has to stop just because you need a bit of support to make it happen.

For those who'd like more regular social time closer to home, we also run our own day centre through Evergreens Day Service in Ashfield. Open four days a week, with activities, great food, and good company.

Medication Management

We make sure medication is never missed, muddled, or something you have to worry about.

Keeping on top of the important things

For many older people, managing medication is one of the trickier parts of daily life. Especially when there are multiple prescriptions, different timings, or days when memory isn't quite as sharp as it used to be.

Our carers can prompt and assist with medication at the right times, help keep track of prescriptions, and flag any concerns to family members or healthcare professionals. We don't administer medication in a clinical sense, but we make sure it isn't missed, isn't muddled, and isn't something you or your family have to worry about.

It's a small thing that makes a big difference.

Help Around the Home

A clean, comfortable home is part of good care — not an afterthought.

A tidy, comfortable home matters too

For many of our clients, keeping the home clean and comfortable is just as important as personal care. Our carers can help with light cleaning and housework, laundry and ironing, making beds, washing up, shopping and errands, and preparing meals and snacks.

This isn't a cleaning company service bolted on as an afterthought. It's part of holistic, joined-up care, often delivered in the same visit as personal care, because that's what makes sense for the people we support.

Shopping & Errands

Our carers can help with the weekly food shop, picking up prescriptions, or any other regular errands. We can go with you for the company, or take a list and go on your behalf. Back home, we'll help put things away, prepare meals, and keep on top of the light domestic tasks that go alongside it.

Small things, but often exactly what makes the difference between managing well at home and struggling.

Welfare Checks

Sometimes you don't need full care cover, you just need to know someone is okay. Our welfare checks are short, friendly visits designed to do exactly that.

A carer will call in, have a chat, check that everything is as it should be, and let you know how things are. It's a simple service, but for families who live at a distance or who just need reassurance on the days they can't be there themselves, it can be genuinely invaluable.

Welfare checks can be arranged as a standalone service or built into a wider respite care package. Whatever works best for your situation.

FAQs

How often can a carer visit?

As often as you need. From one visit a week to multiple visits every day. We'll work with you to figure out what makes sense for your situation.

Will I always have the same carer?

We always try to keep the same small team of carers for each client, because consistency builds trust. We won't always be able to guarantee one single carer, but you'll get to know the people who visit you.

How do I arrange elderly care for a parent?

The easiest first step is to call us on 0115 740 1143 for an informal chat. We'll listen to your situation and suggest what might work. If you'd like to go ahead, we'll arrange a free home visit to put a care plan together.

Can a carer take me to appointments or activities?

Yes. Accompanying clients to community activities, appointments, places of worship, or simply out for a coffee is something our carers do regularly. It's part of what makes home care genuinely supportive rather than just task-based. Just let us know what matters to you and we'll build it into your care plan.

Do you cover both Nottingham and Derby?

Yes. We provide home care across Nottingham and Derby and the surrounding areas. Call us to check coverage for your specific location.
