Mental Health Support at Home in Nottingham & Derby
Living with a mental health condition can make everyday life feel harder than it looks from the outside. The right kind of support - practical, consistent, and non-judgmental - can make a real difference to how manageable each day feels.
Our mental health support service helps people across Nottingham and Derby to stay well at home, maintain their independence, and feel less alone.
What We Can Help With
Our carers can support people to maintain a daily routine, which is often one of the most stabilising things for mental wellbeing. Practical help might include support with personal care on difficult days, help with meals and household tasks, prompting medication, accompanying people to appointments, and simply being a consistent, friendly presence.
We don't replace mental health professionals. We work alongside them. If someone has a community mental health team, a CPN, or other professional support, we fit in with that, sharing information where appropriate and flagging any concerns.
Welfare Checks
Sometimes you don't need full care cover, you just need to know someone is okay. Our welfare checks are short, friendly visits designed to do exactly that.
A carer will call in, have a chat, check that everything is as it should be, and let you know how things are. It's a simple service, but for families who live at a distance or who just need reassurance on the days they can't be there themselves, it can be genuinely invaluable.
Welfare checks can be arranged as a standalone service or built into a wider respite care package. Whatever works best for your situation.
Our Approach
We understand that trust takes time. Especially for people whose mental health makes new relationships feel difficult. Our team is trained to work at the person's pace, without pressure or expectation.
Consistency matters a lot in mental health support, so we always try to keep the same carers with each person. A familiar face, a predictable routine, and a carer who understands your situation can be quietly but genuinely valuable.
FAQs
Do your carers have specific mental health training?
Yes. All of our team receive training in mental health awareness, and those working primarily in mental health support have additional, more specific training. We'll always make sure the person we match to you has the right experience.
What if a person's needs change or their condition worsens?
We stay in close contact with families and professionals and review care plans regularly. If we notice changes that concern us, we'll raise them promptly with the right people.
